Hubby has been replacing our kitchen lighting quite frequently recently. Not sure if it is the problem of the bulb connector, our expensive bulbs was burn although just replaced recently. If I knew earlier, I would have used the same bulb as our bathroom lighting since it is more long lasting. Of course we could do without a light in the kitchen since we cook in our wet kitchen. But due to feng shui, hubby said better get it done

Security is not very good these days. So when we moved in and renovated our kitchen years back, we practically have to change the whole kitchen entrance door to a solid door. Since there is a window located just beside of the door, it is pretty easy for burglar to break open the window and reach the knob or handle on the door.

In order to prevent that from happen, hubby had to install special internal locks and get them from the door hardware whereby we have one-way locks that can only be operated from the internal kitchen.

My grandma was a very good cook when she was young and l loved all her dishes very much. She cooks great vegetable dish, best curry egg and crab and even fantastic desserts for our daily teatime. In fact, I miss most of them since I moved out from my hometown. Now that she is old, and she seldom cooks so I do not have a chance to learn from her now as she seldom cooks anymore. But she will be the only one I would love to learn the dishes as my mother hardly cooks.

As a food lover myself, I can never learn any good cooking skill from my mother, except for some very simple dishes. So that leaves me no one who can bake to learn from. It is only until recently I took up slowly on baking, with some guidance from book and friends.

In fact, I am lucky to meet a bunch of friends who happen to stay nearby and can cook and bake very well. Although we do organise some cooking and baking class once in a while in one of our home, there are lots more I would love to learn, which I believe I should be going to school to learn them. For instant, cake decorating is a very fine art that I think should be learn from experience chef such as those from the Minneapolis Culinary Arts. Its partnership with Le Cordon Bleu is enough to convince me that this is a good school to be in.

Orlando Culinary School, located in the heart of Florida also provides intensive, practical and comprehensive trainings if you are looking for a fine cooking-school. But if you love small classes with a non-traditional hands-on instruction, do check more at Miami Culinary College for career assistance.

It is the fresh beginning of the year and everyone is still very happy from New Year mood. Am sure most of us have attended some great parties and gathering during the New Year celebration. It is good to get-together for great food, but no one likes it cold. Since it is almost freezing everywhere, it would be costly to spend a lot for home heating device at this time of year.Indoor heating can be quite common and most of us would not spend on outdoor heating to save the heating cost. However, to have a get-together or a BBQ at the home patio, wouldn’t it be great if we could afford outdoor heating as well? Check out more on kerosene shop heaters on how you can save 15% on Home Heating This Winter.
