Salted Chicken Aun Kheng Lim, Ipoh

Monday, October 10th, 2011

This is my first time trying this very famous Salted Chicken.

My hairdresser has bought me one chicken, all the way from Ipoh. Such a kind friend I have eh….

I know Ipoh is very famous for their food, but we have not explore Ipoh yet as of today because hubby don’t know his way around.

All we did is to steam this frozen herbal chicken (with very strong Tong Kwai smell, and quite salty as well), with some water WITHOUT the wrapped paper.

The chicken was so tender and good!!!

Ok, that’s my update for today. Time to rush some quick step laminate for my kids photos!

Less cooking

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

The weather has been very cooling recently, and I like taking naps in the afternoon, while my 2 big babies are taking a nap. Although it rains frequently, at least we are lucky that we do not need to be protected by any underground storm shelter like those experience in other countries.

I have not been cooking much either because there is a renovation going on at the back of my house. So I shall take a rest for the time being in cooking so you won’t be seeing much dishes from this blog, unless I dine out.

Great recipes from friends

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

I just love collecting great recipes from friends!

Whenever I get to sample good cooking from my friends, I will do some Database Administrator Jobs and compile and post them here on this blog. It serves just as great as a reference for me whenever I want to refer to good recipes I have tried myself and not just recipes I am unsure of from the internet.

I finally got a new printer!

Monday, August 15th, 2011

I finally have my own printer! Can’t believe printers are so cheap nowadays. I just bought a normal HP Ink-Jet 2 weeks ago from Jusco, and is good enough for me to print my labels, my invoices and occasionally some pictures of my kids.

I saw some wireless printers available in the market and was wondering if they would create one where we can insert just memory cards.

But since hubby found a place to put it, there is no reason to spend unnecessary.

New website template

Monday, August 15th, 2011

I recently just bought a new website template for Mama Patch. I have been waiting too long already to have a proper website for my home business and I think it is time to get a proper one. Unlike custom template, this template is a ready made and it looks rather clean with lots of white area and some olive color lines.  It is something similar with the document management software from Dokmee.net, and I hope it manage my order and invoices well.

Food business

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Hubby have been talking about wanting to start up his own online business from home. It relates to premium food so storage and shipping would be quite troublesome. He did mention about using storage like the steel drums at drumsofsteel.com to ensure the freshness during shipping though.

But anyway, I do not think he would have time for that now that he comes back so tired everyday. Definitely not easy to manage 2 jobs at a time right?

Storing raw garlic

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Since Kakak is going back very soon (she needs to renew and buy buy life insurance for her children too), I am getting her to prepare some cooking ingredients for me. Last night I just wonder I can store all the minced garlic in some oil for long so that I do not have to cut them daily when I need to use them for cooking. Anyone can share how I can do this?

Nice kids

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

The boys are behaving under control lately so I am living with a more happy mood too. Perhaps it is my positive encouragement and lots of positive affirmations night that encourage them to behave in such a better way now. In fact, now I am thinking to get a pair of funny tshirts to reward them!

Hope that when Kakak leaves home for holiday, they will continue behaving well, at least until Kakak is back again!

Trendy watches for us

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

Can you believe that I have not been wearing a watch ever since I gave birth to my first child? Wearing a watch may looks trendy but I find it quite troublesome as I need to cradle by breastfeeding baby on my hand especially during breastfeeding.

Now the all my kids has grown up and I am looking forward to get myself a nice watch again. Perhaps I should get a matching golf gps watch with my girl as it looks really trendy especially when the ladies wears them :)

Organic fruit basket

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

I am beginning to pay attention to what I feed the kids nowadays. We recently got a food ozoniser to clean our food before we consume it. Now organic food is so common, and it is readily available anywhere too. Besides going to organic shop for our products, we can also buy organic fruit online now. A great shopping choice especially if you wish to send a fruit basket to a friend with just a click online!
