Ipoh Beansprout Chicken, Onn Kee

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

On our way to North, we made a stop in Ipoh for brunch. Initially we wanted to go to Foh San for some Ipoh Dim Ssum, but unfortunately it was too packed. Patrons were even standing out at the main door, waiting. Since we had not had our breakfast, I decided not to wait but drove over to Lou Wong. But then it was only 10am, and Lou Wong wasn’t ready.

Hence we go next door to Onn Kee. Ipoh beansprout was not as fat as we expected but they were good. Even the steamed white chicken was very yummy too!

Char Siew was quite good too compare to many places, except that they are a bit hard. However my BIL can make better Char Siew, so this dish was nothing special to us.

After brunch, we continue our journey up to Penang, and continue our eating journey. Stay tune on where we went after that. After spending 5 days of eating spree, you can now imagine how much additional kilo I have gained and I hope the gatorade powder could help me burn some calories….

Cleaner rubbish truck

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

I think it would be good when we start to segregate our rubbish once the new policy starts next year. Our goverment is taking this long to start this new system because I think they need time to start implement better garbage processing by investing in the trash pump.

I hope we will have a more organized rubbish collection system and we will no longer have the leaking wet, smelly truck each time the rubbish truck pass by!

Dim Sum in Hong Kong

Dim Sum for adults

Cute little Dim Sum for kids

I have always wanted to try those dim sum in Hong Kong. We initially wanted to go to the famous dim sum outlet, Tim Ho Wan, but when was told that queue might take up to 2 hours, we drop the idea since we are having fussy kids with us. Hence, we tried the dim sum in Hong Kong, at Grand Century Plaza. Sister in law said their dim sum is good.

Well, cute and they look good, but it did not really suit our taste bud.

Perhaps I should find out more from my youtube downloader to check which is a better option besides this restaurant above our hotel.

I am a plain jane

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

I hardly put on any make up nowadays and I am so used without anything on my face. There was a few occasion where I need to apply make up and I can’t even tolerate the dryness of my lips with the lipstick on, not to mention those fake lashes sticking to my eyes. I hope they will invent some kind of eyelash growth product instead. I just hate fake lashes!

Uncomfortable with “cup”

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

I know it is not very appropriate to talk about some other kind of cup here, LOL, but I just feel very uncomfortable these few days with the cup during my menses. My friend said I have very low pain tolerance. I must admit I am lousy at pain management and that explained why I need a lot of Anesthesiologist Jobs during my past surgeries.

Have been cooking quite some new recipes these days but I just have no mood to take any picture or post them up, sigh..bear with me ya..

Do I need a camcoder?

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

I am glad that I own a decent camera to catch great pictures of my kids. Although I will be able to catch great videos using this camera as I only need extra accessories like can am commander accessories, it would be even better if I do the video on a separate camcoder so I can keep the memory card just for my pictures.

Flood in Thailand

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Have you read about the recent flood in Thailand? It is so scary and I never thought that a flood can be as severe as this. My friend who resides in Bangkok said that the ground floor of her house is like a big swimming pool. She is lucky that she able to move up all their belongings to the 2nd floor and now they have already moved out to live in a condo.

If would be a great loss to those steel building after this flood, sigh…

Eating in car

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

With little kids in car, eating or snacking in car is certainly unavoidable at times. Snacking for kids during car ride can keep them occupied in their car seats especially long distance. At times when we travel pass our eating schedule, snacking for kids during ride is very convenient too. Luckily hubby has got his whole car carpeted with the mazda 3 custom floor mats to catch the spill from the children.

Salted Chicken Aun Kheng Lim, Ipoh

Monday, October 10th, 2011

This is my first time trying this very famous Salted Chicken.

My hairdresser has bought me one chicken, all the way from Ipoh. Such a kind friend I have eh….

I know Ipoh is very famous for their food, but we have not explore Ipoh yet as of today because hubby don’t know his way around.

All we did is to steam this frozen herbal chicken (with very strong Tong Kwai smell, and quite salty as well), with some water WITHOUT the wrapped paper.

The chicken was so tender and good!!!

Ok, that’s my update for today. Time to rush some quick step laminate for my kids photos!

Less cooking

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

The weather has been very cooling recently, and I like taking naps in the afternoon, while my 2 big babies are taking a nap. Although it rains frequently, at least we are lucky that we do not need to be protected by any underground storm shelter like those experience in other countries.

I have not been cooking much either because there is a renovation going on at the back of my house. So I shall take a rest for the time being in cooking so you won’t be seeing much dishes from this blog, unless I dine out.
